Physiotherapy for Older Adults
Physiotherapy for Older Adults
At London Harley Street Practice, our physiotherapy service provides personalised care for older adults experiencing reduced mobility, balance difficulties, recurrent falls, joint or muscle pain, or changes in physical function. We also support rehabilitation for people living with neurological and age-related conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and dementia.
Comprehensive Assessment
Every programme begins with a thorough assessment of your movement, strength, balance, mobility and functional ability. Your physiotherapist will discuss your concerns and goals before developing a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan suited to your needs.
Personalised Treatment
Treatment is tailored to each individual and may include hands-on therapy, therapeutic exercises, mobility and balance training, stretching and strengthening. Where appropriate, treatment can also incorporate techniques to help manage pain and improve movement.
Strength, Balance and Mobility
Our rehabilitation programmes are designed to improve strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and mobility. Exercises are carefully selected to support safer movement and help you remain active and independent in everyday life.
Walking and Gait Rehabilitation
We can provide guidance on walking technique and the safe use of mobility aids, including walking frames and sticks. Rehabilitation may focus on improving balance, coordination, confidence and walking ability following illness, injury or surgery.
Functional Rehabilitation
Physiotherapy can help improve the ability to manage everyday activities such as getting up from a chair, standing, walking, using stairs and moving safely between different positions. We can also provide practical advice on movement and posture to support greater confidence and independence.
Building Confidence and Independence
Maintaining confidence with movement is an important part of rehabilitation. Through personalised exercises, guidance and encouragement, we aim to help you feel safer and more confident in your daily activities and maintain as much independence as possible.
Collaborative Care
Where appropriate, physiotherapy can form part of a wider programme of care. With your consent, we can work alongside other healthcare professionals involved in your treatment to support a coordinated approach to your rehabilitation.
Education and Self-Management
We provide clear advice and practical strategies to help you understand your condition and manage your physical health between appointments. This may include home exercises, mobility advice, falls prevention strategies and guidance on maintaining strength and function.

Follow up consultations can be either 45 minutes for £95 and 30 minutes for £80.
We also offer a block booking follow up approach with a discount of the following percentages:
3-5 sessions at 10% discount
