Stress Health Check
A two-part doctor-led assessment designed to evaluate the physical and psychological impact of stress, identify underlying medical causes, and provide structured support for both body and mind.
Why Have a Stress Health Check?
Stress can affect the body in multiple ways, including fatigue, sleep disturbance, anxiety, low mood, hormonal imbalance and physical symptoms such as palpitations or digestive issues. This assessment is designed to identify whether symptoms are driven by psychological stress, underlying medical conditions, or a combination of both.
Part 1: Medical Assessment (Harley Street GP)
Your first appointment includes a detailed consultation with an experienced physician at our Harley Street clinic. This includes a full physical examination assessing cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal and neurological systems, alongside a review of symptoms and risk factors.
Targeted Blood Testing for Stress-Related Causes
A comprehensive blood panel is included to investigate potential organic contributors to stress and anxiety symptoms, including:
Thyroid function testing
Vitamin D and nutritional markers
Inflammatory markers (CRP, ESR)
Cortisol level assessment
Full metabolic and biochemical profile
These tests help identify whether there are underlying physiological drivers of stress-related symptoms.
Part 2: Psychological Assessment
The second stage includes a structured consultation with a qualified psychotherapist (online), focusing on stress, anxiety, mood and coping strategies. This may include early therapeutic input where appropriate, supporting both understanding and management of symptoms.
Integrated Medical Interpretation
Both physical and psychological findings are combined into a single clinical overview, ensuring a joined-up understanding of stress and its effects on the body.
A Holistic Approach to Stress-Related Symptoms
The Stress Health Check provides a comprehensive evaluation of both medical and psychological contributors to stress, supporting clarity, reassurance and appropriate next steps.
