Heart Health Check
A comprehensive cardiovascular assessment designed to identify early signs of heart disease, evaluate cardiovascular risk factors, and support long-term heart health.
Why Have a Healthy Heart Check?
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of illness, yet many risk factors can develop silently over many years. A Healthy Heart Check provides a detailed assessment of your cardiovascular health, helping to identify potential concerns before symptoms develop and allowing preventative action to be taken where appropriate.
Detailed Cardiovascular Assessment
Your appointment includes a comprehensive consultation and physical examination with an experienced doctor at our Harley Street clinic. We assess personal and family history, lifestyle factors, blood pressure, weight, and other cardiovascular risk indicators.
Advanced Cardiac Investigations
The Healthy Heart Check is designed to provide a more in-depth evaluation than routine cardiovascular screening and includes advanced investigations to assess heart structure, function, and coronary artery health.
Blood Testing and Risk Profiling
Comprehensive blood testing is used to assess:
Cholesterol and lipid profile
Diabetes risk markers
Inflammatory markers
Specialised blood markers indicating increased cardiovascular risk
Understanding Your Cardiovascular Risk
Results are combined with your clinical assessment to provide a personalised evaluation of your cardiovascular risk and overall heart health.
Personalised Prevention Strategy
Your doctor will explain your results in detail and provide recommendations regarding lifestyle, monitoring, further investigation, or specialist referral where appropriate.
Protect Your Long-Term Heart Health
The Healthy Heart Check is designed for individuals seeking reassurance, those with a family history of cardiovascular disease, or anyone wishing to take a proactive approach to heart health.
Healthy Heart Check
£2665 / £3865*
Duration 3-4 hours.
Detailed medical history taken by an experienced Physician.
Full system examination (Cardiovascular, Respiratory).
Full body composition (measuring height, weight, Muscle Mass, Body Fat Free Index, visceral fat rating) Body Mass Index, Body Fat percentage calculation, Metabolic rate, Metabolic Age.
Blood tests (more than 25 specific lab readings): Haematology profile (including white cell count and ESR), Full Biochemistry profile relating to liver and kidney. Iron status, Gout blood test, Bone profile (incl. Magnesium levels).
Thyroid hormone profile test.
Diabetes screen: HbA1c blood test (measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 3 months) - High levels indicate prediabetes or diabetes, a major risk factor for heart disease.
N-terminal proBNP. Detects heart stress, heart failure.
Lipid Profile (Cholesterol Test): Measures the different types of fats in your blood to assess heart disease risk:
Total Cholesterol: The overall amount of cholesterol.
LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) Cholesterol: The main “atherogenic” cholesterol; high levels drive plaque formation.
HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) Cholesterol: This is the protective cholesterol which helps remove “bad” cholesterol.
Triglycerides: Another type of fat in the blood which is associated with metabolic syndrome and increased vascular risk.
High-sensitivity CRP: Measures inflammation, which is associated with heart disease.
Apolipoprotein B: A protein associated with "bad" cholesterol particles and is a heart disease risk marker.
Lipoprotein (a): An LDL type that is often genetically determined. High levels are linked to increased heart disease risk.
Lp-PLA2 (PLAC Test): This is an enzyme released by actively inflamed arterial plaques.
Homocysteine: An amino acid linked to blood vessel cell wall dysfunction and clot formation. It indicates increased vascular risk.
Fibrinogen: Fibrinogen is a clotting protein and marker of inflammation linked to cardiovascular risk.
Urine analysis to check for blood, white cells, protein, glucose and ketones.
12 lead ECG for Heart Rate, Rhythm and Electrical activity.
Echocardiogram (Heart Ultrasound). An echocardiogram uses ultrasound to visualise the heart’s structure and function, assessing chamber size, valve health, and pumping efficiency. It helps detect early abnormalities, guide treatment, and provides insight into overall cardiac health, making it an essential part of a thorough Healthy Heart Check.
14 day Cardiac Monitoring. Our cardiac monitoring service uses a discreet, wearable single-lead ECG device to detect irregular heart rhythms throughout daily activities. It continuously records your heart’s electrical pattern, identifying intermittent palpitations, skipped beats, or arrhythmias that may not appear during a clinic ECG. This simple, comfortable monitor provides valuable insight for early diagnosis and personalised treatment.
Carotid Doppler Ultrasound. A carotid Doppler ultrasound evaluates blood flow in the neck arteries, detecting plaque or narrowing that could increase stroke risk. By identifying early vascular changes, it helps guide preventative strategies and offers a clearer picture of overall cardiovascular health, making it a key component of a comprehensive Healthy Heart Check.
Personalised report, highlighting problems, health advice and an action plan.
Free 15 minute follow up appointment
Total Cost £2665 (without CT Angiogram)
Additional testing*
CT Coronary Angiogram. A CT Coronary Angiogram is a non-invasive imaging test that visualises the coronary arteries, detecting plaque buildup or narrowing before symptoms appear. It helps identify early signs of heart disease, enabling personalised risk assessment and timely preventive measures, making it a valuable component of a comprehensive Healthy Heart Check.
Total Cost incl CT Coronary Angiogram £3865
